Drive-Through Restaurants with Secret Menus

Whether we love them or just simply have to hit one up every now and again, drive-through restaurants are an integral part of the driving experience in America. For those of us drivers who like to try something new (especially while on the road experiencing new places), we have got the list of the best drive-through secret menu items to try the next time you swing through a drive-through for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just your morning coffee.

Carl’s Jr.

Carl’s Jr., known for their big burgers, have a surprising secret menu selection. What’s the surprise? The Carl’s Jr. secret menu items are healthier options! Carl’s Jr. secret menu includes things like the Low Carb It.® option, which you can apply to any burger. When you “low carb” your burger, you swap out the carb-and-calorie-heavy bun for a lettuce wrap.

Some Carl’s Jrs. also offers a secret vegetarian option on their menu, where you can swap out the meat patty for a veggie one. Though locations where veggie burgers are available are still few, Carl’s Jr. is expanding their meatless options to their restaurants daily.

Trim It.® is another secret menu option that can trim down the extra calories in your Carl’s Jr. burger by swapping out calorie-heavy traditional buns for whole wheat buns, adding a turkey burger or chicken patty in place of your burger, and cutting the mayonnaise and cheese.

Though it is not a healthy alternative (quite the opposite, actually), Carl’s Jr.’s secret menu also offers the Chicken Stuffed Star, which stuffs a fried spicy chicken patty burger (including the bun and toppings) between the patties of the double-burger Super Star.

Jack in the Box

Jack in the Box drive-throughs offer a lot of menu options already, but their secret menu takes it to the next level by adding a little bit extra to their regular menu items.

Extras that you can get on the secret menu at Jack in the Box include extra burger patties, extra cheese, and extra bacon too when you order the Bacon Bacon Cheeseburger. Then there are the regular secret options that include swapping buns for other breads, like the sourdough or a ciabatta roll.

For breakfast, Jack in the Box has a secret menu item addition for their Grilled Breakfast Sandwich called the Loaded Grilled Breakfast Sandwich. The Loaded sandwich takes the base of the grilled breakfast sandwich (two fried eggs, two slices of ham, two strips of bacon, and two slices of cheese), and from there, you can add pretty much whatever you want to it. Extra bacon, sausage, turkey—whatever your pleasure!

Starbucks has a long list of specially blended secret menu drinks (not all available at every location), but some of our favorites include: The Candy Cane Frappuccino, Captain Crunch Berry Frappuccino, Cake Batter Frappuccino, Banana Cream Pie Frappuccino, Butterbeer Frappuccino, Biscotti Frappuccino, Fruity Pebbles Frappuccino, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Frappuccino, Twix Frappuccino, and the Zebra Mocha Frappuccino.

We can keep going! Some other secret menu Starbucks favorites around the office include Chocolate Dalmatian, Nutella Drink, Pink Drin, Dirty Chai, Caramel Snickerdoodle Macchiato, Liquid Cocaine (not for the faint of heart—4 shots of espresso and 4 pumps of white chocolate!), the Undertow, and Strawberry Lemonade.

Did you know that your dog can get some special love at the drive-through too?

Starbucks has a secret menu item for your dog—an espresso cup full of whipped cream! (It’s usually free too!)

In ‘N’ Out will throw a plain patty in a bag for your furry friend!

Dairy Queen will give you a free “pup cup” of vanilla soft-serve ice cream if they are lucky enough to accompany you through the drive through!
